Long time no see!
Well, I can’t really blame the lousy updates on my super hectic schedule.. because this past week I’ve actually had a lot more time on my hands than usual – thanks to this beautiful gray beast that surrounds my right ankle. Also known as a boot or an “aircast”..
Those of you that follow me on instagram might already know that I had an MRI scan of my foot last week. I’ve been struggling with pain in my ankle since (I was 10 and started training waaaaay more than what’s considered healthy..anyway) early March. But throughout the years I’ve done track, I’ve simply gotten used to always having some pain here and there. A sore ankle didn’t seem like anything I’d be the slightest concerned about. However, the Athletic Trainers at Augie didn’t agree, so I was sent to the hospital for an MRI.
Apparently I have what they call a “stress reaction of the navicular bone.” In normal english that means I have overloaded a bone in my ankle, and if I don’t take care of it.. it may actually break. In more advanced english they call it “a stress fracture in the early stages.” So I’m stuck in the boot for the next two weeks, and then I’ll have a new check-up to see how it’s going. But y’all know me.. I lost the entire season of 2010, half of 2012, 2013, 2014 and now at least half of 2015.. so I’m used to this.
But it still makes me feel:
